BRCC Nursing Bootcamp Fall 2018

Today was a fairly important day for me!I had nursing bootcamp at the Frazier building today. It was originally supposed to run from 9AM to 4 PM, but it was adjusted to be from 9AM to 12PM instead. On the registration paperwork, it was written that both the nursing bootcamp and orientation were mandatory. But, today at the bootcamp, they made it pretty clear that only the orientation was mandatory. For the session, we had 24 students including myself. I’m Accepted, Now What? (AKA The Wallet Shock)

So, surprisingly, I actually had a lot of difficulty looking up what exactly would be required of me once I got accepted into a program. And, I was pretty shocked by what was required of my school and the timeframe I had to turn in said materials. And, more importantly, the cost! I am officially a nursing student!

So, Baton Rouge Community College typically sends out their acceptance letters in the second week of June. Our application cycle got lucky, and we actually received our letters in the third week of June! It was the worst wait of my life, and to top it off, the school is closed on Fridays during the summer so I had no way of knowing if my mail got lost if they didn’t send it until Monday.Anyways, as of today, I've officially been accepted as a nursing student.
